The following ceremonies are among those in the area that will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019. The public is encouraged to gather in solemn remembrance of fallen military members on Monday. In Byram, Newton, Stanhope and several surrounding municipalities, there will also be Memorial Day parades.

BYRAM - There will be a 10 .a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial at Roseville School House on Mansfield Drive, honoring veterans who have passed away. The Byram Township Fire Department Fire Department parade follows at 10:30 a.m. at the Fire Station. The Byram Memorial Day parade kicks off at 11 a.m., and travels along Route 206 to the Cranberry Lake Clubhouse.

FRANKLIN -The Franklin Memorial Day parade starts at 10:45 a.m. at the Legion Post, with 10:15 a.m. line up. The parade route is along Rutherford Avenue and Main Street to the War Memorial for a service.

NEWTON - The Newton Memorial Day parade starts at 10 a.m., and travels from Lower Spring Street to Memory Park. If marching in the parade, meet at 9 a.m. at Lower Spring Street.

STANHOPE - American Legion Musconetcong Post 278 will hold a Memorial Day parade at 1 p.m. at College Road School, Netcong, traveling along Route 183 in Stanhope.

STILLWATER - Stillwater starts its Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, Pond Brook Road.
